Our campaign to win Coorparoo Ward for the Greens in March got off to a flying start, with a neighbourhood launch party that rocked The Pocket Community Garden. Hundreds of supporters came along to eat, drink, enjoy the performances and join in the activities on Saturday 2 November.
More than 50 volunteers rolled up their sleeves to make the day a success, printing amazing bags and T-shirts with the new SallyforCoorparoo logo, signing up dozens of people to help with the campaign, and helping us smash our $5000 fundraising target.
Among the day's highlights were hip hop performances from students at Buranda and Junction Park State Schools, and singing and ukulele performances from Narbethong Special School students.
Heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who cooked, baked, made music, staffed stalls, chatted, organised, and set up and packed down. And a shout out to Jonathan Sri, Councillor for The Gabba, Max Chandler-Mather - Greens and Amy MacMahon - Greens for bringing such positive energy to the night. It was incredible.
Together we can make our suburbs great places to make friends and raise our families.
